Bayray Mcwizu is a Nigerian actress, filmmaker, singer, and winner of the 2007 edition of the Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) reality show. Also, she is the founder of the Girls Achieving Leading Together global foundation (GALT Global).
Bayray Mcwizu, popularly known as Bhaira Mcwizu, or Eberechukwu Nwizu was born in Lagos, Nigeria, to Mr. and Mrs. Nwizu on the 1st of July, 1984. The talented actress hails from Ozubulu, Anambra State, the Eastern part of Nigeria. She had her primary, secondary, and university education in Lagos State.
Bayray Mcwizu initially wanted to become a lawyer, but the school declined as the department was already full, so instead of waiting for a new session, she decided she would study the available course, which was philosophy. As such, she acquired a degree in philosophy from the Lagos State University (LASU).
Bayray also went to Wale Adenuga’s PEFTI film school in Ajao Estate, Isolo, Lagos, to hone her skills as an actress. Additionally, The talented actress attended the Muson School of music and a fashion school, so she could establish her fashion line. Bayray is blessed with a child.
Before Bayray became a professional actress, she was into real estate business. She also assisted her mum in managing the family hotel, Veragon hotel.
Bayray always wanted to act because she had the skills innate already. While in secondary school, Bhaira was a dancer and a member of the schools’ drama club. Her time in the drama club birthed her passion for the industry.
In 2007, Bayray applied for the Amstel Malta Box office reality TV show. She participated in the show and emerged the winner at the end of the show. The show opened several doors of opportunities for her, and it served as the bedrock upon which her career was built.
Her first movie as an actress was Lancelot Imasuen’s Waterfalls, but she came to limelight with Izu Ojukwu’s Cindy’s note.
She is inspired by several actors including, Taiwo Ajayi Lycett, Genevieve Nnaji, Edith Jane Azu, and Bimbo Manuel. Bayray loves to feature in movies that the script is reasonable so, that the lives of viewers can be impacted.
