How to Apply for Michigan State University Scholarship | MSU Program Application Form: Scholarship values range from approximately $500 to $1,500 annually for eight semesters. In-state students who apply to MSU as a freshman are automatically considered. Scholarship recipients may also be eligible for additional merit-based scholarships at MSU.

Requirements for Application for MSU Scholarship

Some scholarship committees only consider applicants whose GPA meets a certain threshold. Minimum requirements range from around 2.0 on the lower end to 3.75 or higher for competitive academic scholarships. Generally speaking, a 3.0 GPA or higher will give you a decent shot at qualifying for a variety of scholarships.

What GPA do you need for MSU?

Average GPA: 3.75

You’ll need at least a mix of A’s and B’s, with more A’s than B’s. You can compensate for a lower GPA with harder classes, like AP or IB classes. This will show that you’re able to handle more difficult academics than the average high school student.

Answer: There is no separate application process. All first-year students who apply and are admitted to Michigan State University are automatically considered for an Honors College invitation.

A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher with strong grade performance. 24 or more credits deemed transferable to MSU, earned after high school graduation. Applicants with less than 24 transferable credits are required to provide final high school transcripts
