New Twitter Features – Twitter Is Reportedly Testing an “Undo Send” Feature: After releasing its take on stories in the form of Fleets, Twitter could soon offer its own spin on one of Gmail’s best features.

Social media maven Jane Manchun Wong has shared a first look at an “Undo Send” timer for tweets that lets you take back your hot take or erroneous comment before it’s out in the wild.

The feature — which gives you about five seconds to retract a sent tweet — was first mentioned in a Twitter survey last July seeking feedback on its push into subscriptions.

The platform was also reportedly mulling tipping for exclusive content and paid access to the Tweetdeck app in a bid to supplement its ad revenues.

This feature might be useful if you spot any errors in your tweet before posting them, so people have noted that the timer would be better if it showed the tweet that just went up.

UI and UX designer David Svezhintsev (@daveranan) replied to Wong’s tweet saying: “Well, in that case, I wish there was a preview of the tweet while watching that ticker go.”

Ever since the service was launched in 2006, users have been crying out for an edit button. However, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey confirmed in a YouTube interview with WIRED that the service would probably never do it.

‘Undo Send’ button for Tweets

Dorsey retorted and said that the feature could be misused to spread fake news or mislead people. The edit button debacle picked the pace back in 2018 when American socialite Kim Kardashian West took to Twitter and stated,

“I had a very good convo with @jack this weekend at Kanye’s bday and I think he really heard me out on the edit button.”

The revelation comes nearly 10 days after Twitter launched warning prompts for harmful content, and is currently being tested on iOS devices. The attempt was made to curtail hate speech and allowed the users to ‘edit’, ‘send’, or ‘delete’ their tweets.
