NYSC Salary Update – NYSC Nigeria Allowance | All You Need to Know

This post will enlighten you on the amount money corps members in the National Youth Service corps (NYSC) receives has State allowances for the 36 States in Nigeria and the FCT.

At the moment, the bill to pay corpers N30, 000 has been signed but yet to be implemented which we believe is a good news to the corps member as the result of the increment in the national minimum wage .

However, The Federal Government still pays NYSC members the sum of N19,800(Nineteen Thousand Eight Hundred Naira) monthly allowance .

As most of you know already. Corp members have other sources of payment from their place of primary assignment (PPA) – depending on their course of study and location.

For instance, a corp member who is a medical doctor in a teaching hospital may get up to N150-200 per month along with the N19,800 Federal Allowance. Pretty good money.

Same with a corp members who are engineers working for the likes of Agip, Mobil or Chevron. Their monthly pay cannot be the same with a corp member who is a classroom teacher in one remote village like that.

NYSC State Allowance in Nigeria

Below is the current NYSC State allowance in Nigeria.

1. Akwa Ibom State Pays N5,000 every month plus Federal allowance of N19,800

2. Lagos state Pays N15,000 and sometimes N10,000 to corpers in ministries and N5000 to those in LGA.

3. Sokoto State pays N4,000 and N9,000 to those in state hospital plus Federal allowance of N19,800

4. Enugu State Pays N3,800 plus Federal allowance of N19,800

5. Oyo State Pays N3,800 plus Federal allowance of N19,800

6. Osun State Pays N5,000 plus Federal allowance of N19,800

7. Kano State Pays N4,000 plus Federal allowance of N19,800

8. Borno State Pays N1,000 plus Federal allowance of N19,800

9.Niger State Pays N6,000 but they have stopped, plus Federal allowance of N19,800

10. Yobe State Pays N2,500 plus Federal allowance of N19,800

21. Kaduna State Pays 3000 plus Federal allowance of N19,800

22. Jigawa State Pays 5,000 plus Federal allowance of N19,800

23. Kano State Pays 10,000 plus Federal allowance of N19,800

24. Nassarawa State Pays 3,000 plus Federal allowance of N19,800

25. Ebonyi State 10,000 plus Federal allowance of N19,800

26. Plateau State N2, 500 in some LGA plus Federal allowance of N19,800

25. Rivers has not yet paid corpers for the past 5 years | source
