The management of the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has released the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) part-time programmes admission list.

All the candidates that applied for YABATECH ND & HND part-time programs admission can now check their admission status online.

About Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH)

Yaba College of Technology, popularly known as YABATECH was founded in 1947 and is Nigeria’s first higher educational institution. It is located in Yaba, Lagos and has a student enrollment of over 16,000.

Yaba College of Technology was established in 1947 as a successor of Yaba Higher College. It attained autonomous status in 1969 by virtue of Decree 23 which granted it the mandate to provide full-time and part-time courses.

History of YABATECH

Yaba College of Technology started as Yaba Technical Institute, which took over all the activities of Yaba Higher College following the recommendation of the Elliot Commission on higher education in West Africa.

Early Beginnings

Yaba Higher College was closed down and the students were moved to form the nucleus of the University College, Ibadan in 1948. The nation’s first Technical Institute, Yaba Technical Institute started day and evening classes in October 1947.

Renaming

On September 23, 1963, Rt. Hon. Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe renamed the Yaba Technical Institute to Yaba College of Technology on the occasion of the official opening of the Engineering Block donated by Shell-British Petroleum.

The change in name was in anticipation of the dynamic role the College was to play in the production of technical manpower for the economic and social development of Nigeria. READ MORE

1. Go to YABATECH part-time admission status checking portal at portal.yabatech.edu.ng/appresults/admissionchecker.
2. Enter your YCT application number in the required column.

How to Check YABATECH HND Admission Lists

1. Go to YABATECH part-time admission status checking portal at http://portal.yabatech.edu.ng/portal/home/signinapplicant.
2. Enter your YCT application number and Surname in the required columns.
3. Finally, click on the ‘Sign In to Portal’ button to access your admission status.

YABATECH Notice to Students on Compliance with all COVID-19 Protocols

The management of the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has observed that many students are no longer complying with the protocols put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the College.

Consequently, I am directed to inform all students that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) protocols put in place for safe return to schools must strictly comply within the College premises below.

Requirements:

1. Use of face masks in the College premises is mandatory.
2. There must be constant washing of hands by students.
3. Social distancing must be maintained by the students.
4. Students are advised to cough or sneeze into a tissue paper or cough into their elbow.

All students are enjoined to comply with the above and other relevant protocols in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
