If you know your current password, you can change it to a new one if you so wish: Simply follow this simple 3 steps below;

Step 1. Login into your Facebook account

Step 2.  Scroll to the bottom of any page and click Settings & Privacy.

Step 3.  Click General > Password

Step 4.  Type your “current and new password”

Step 5. Click “Change Password”

If you don’t know your current password, you can reset it following the steps below:

Step 1. Visit www.facebook.com and Click “Forgot Password?”

This action will take you to a page where you would enter words presented in the CAPTCHA.

Step 2. Enter the right words in the CAPTCHA BOX

Step 3. Type in the email you use in login to your Facebook account, or the phone number associated with the account, full name or username associated with your account, then click “continue”

Facebook asks you for final confirmation by asking you would you like to reset the password to your account.

Step 4. Confirm by clicking on “Reset my password”
(At this time Facebook sends you an email to the email address which use in accessing your Facebook account, same which you have provide in the previous step.)

Step 5. Now, head to your email account inbox to confirm you are the right owner of the Facebook account.

(Your ability to access the email account proves to Facebook you are the owner of the email address and as such the owner of the Facebook account you intend to change its password).

Step 6. Find the code attached to the email which Facebook has sent to you, copy the code (now go back to the Facebook page you were before you headed to your email account) enter the code in the appropriate box on the Facebook page there-in and click “Continue”.

Step 7. Alternative to copying the code in the email, is locating a link attached to the email sent to you, in the email which contains the code.

What do I mean? I mean, you should locate a link contained in the email message sent to your email inbox, click or rather open the link in another browser tab.

This brings you to a page on Facebook, where you would now simply type in your preferable new password.

Step 8. Enter the new password, enter it again in the next box below to confirm the new password.

Step 9. Click on “Change Password” just below the box field.

Step 10. Now you have successfully recovered your Facebook password and can now continue to login into you Facebook account.
