Manchester City To Tour USA In Summer 2017
Manchester City To Tour USA In Summer 2017 – Manchester City has announced that they’ll be playing three friendlies in the United States this summer, but with no indication that they’ll be adding any additional games at this time.
All three matches will be in the International Champions Cup including the first-ever Manchester derby played outside of England in addition to friendlies against Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid.
In their tour of the United States, Manchester City will be playing in Los Angeles, Nashville and a yet-to-be-announced third city. It’s believed that the mystery city the team will play in is Austin, Texas at the Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium. An official announcement is expected soon once the contract agreements are finalized with the stadium location.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said: “Manchester City has a unique bond with the United States and our players and staff are looking forward to visiting this summer and playing in front of our fans.
“The International Champions Cup is a fantastic tournament, and we are delighted to be invited to compete in it once again. We have some great games lined up in some amazing stadiums.
“The Real Madrid game will be an incredible occasion in Los Angeles, and we know all about the strength of our English opponents Tottenham, for the game in Nashville. And it will be amazing for the fans to see the passion of a Manchester derby in the states.
“We’re all very excited to begin our preparations for the new season in the USA.”
