Atletico Madrid confirm Fernando Torres ‘Alright’ after suffering from head Clash
FERNANDO TORRES has been discharged from hospital after being given the all-clear following his sickening head injury.
Atletico Madrid confirmed the good news as scans confirmed the striker did not suffer any serious damage or trauma following the freak accident in the 1-1 draw against Deportivo last night.
The former Chelsea, Liverpool and current Atletico Madrid striker is now in a stable condition after collapsing and losing consciousness during a clash of heads in Atletico Madrid’s match with Deportivo La Coruna on Thursday night.
Torres, 32, fell face down on the pitch in the 85th minute after challenging for the ball with Deportivo’s Alex Bergantinos and required urgent treatment which resulted in Torres being carried off the pitch on a stretcher with a neck brace.
His club, fearful that he may have developed a serious spine or head injury immediately rushed him to the Intensive care Unit, but this morning images of him leaving the hospital have flooded social media, with the club confirming he’s now stable.
