Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg On Why He Changed Facebook Mission, he explained in an interview!!!

‘Give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected’, had always been the giant social media company Facebook’s mission statement.

Not until now, the company seems to realize it is not just enough connecting people and thus the essence of the changing.

The Mark Zuckerberg led global company has now changed to a new mission statement which now reads; ‘to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together’.

While stating the need and why the need arose; the Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg hinted;

‘We used to have a sense that if we could just do those things, then that would make a lot of the things in the world better by themselves, But now we realize that we need to do more too. It’s important to give people a voice, to get a diversity of opinions out there, but on top of that, you also need to do this work of building common ground so that way we can all move forward together’.

He also added that, ‘a lot of what we can do is to help create a more civil and productive debate on some of the bigger issues as well’.

Speaking on Facebook, and how it benefits humanity, he made it known that the company has a responsibility to use its sizable resources to do positive things; Saying, “That’s why it helps to have control of the company,”.
There is close to 2 billion Facebook users on monthly bases, and Zuckerberg maintains the majority voting rights at Facebook.
