Ngozi Ezeonu was born on the 23rd of May, 1963, to Mr D.O Ikpelue and Mrs Ezenwanyi Joy Nonyelum Ikpelue in Owerri, Imo State. The veteran actress has six siblings and is an indigene of Ogbunike in Anambra State, Nigeria.

Ngozi Ezeonu always had a thing for art and decided early that she would become a journalist. After secondary school, she went on to study Journalism at the Nigeria Institute of Journalism (NIJ). Ngozi Ezeonu is married to Mr Edwin Ezeonu. They have been married for twenty-five years, and they are blessed with four children.
