Tchidi Chikere was born on the 10th of October 1975, in Mbaise, Imo State, as the last child of Mr and Mrs Chikere. His parents were strong Catholics. After his primary and secondary education, Tchidi went on to the University of Calabar (UNICAL), where he studied English Language and Literary Studies. The prolific scriptwriter also holds a Masters’s degree in Literature from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Tchidi started writing movie scripts while he was in the University. He was also part of a three-man music group while in school. Tchidi Chikere is married to Nuella Njubigbo, and they are blessed with two lovely children. He was once married to Sophia Tchidi Chikere, and the estranged marriage produced three lovely boys.

Tchidi Chikere Career

While growing up, Tchidi Chikere was mostly alone in his room, accompanied by his make-believe thoughts and fantasies. With this childhood experience, Tchidi developed a passion for writing and arts generally.

He is from a strict catholic family, so he went to the seminary, with the hopes that he would become a priest. But as life would have it, the art part of him took the lead, and he found himself a significant part of the Nigerian entertainment industry.

His journey in Nollywood commenced fully after he graduated from the University in the year 1999. He began his career as a scriptwriter. Tchidi Chikere became Fred Amata’s assistant director in 2001. Since then, he has been doing exploits in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Tchidi has been in the industry for over 20 years. Thus far, he has produced and directed over 100 movies. He has also written and published a book.
