James Timini Egbuson was born on the 10th of June 1987 in Lagos State. He is the last child of his parents’ five children. He hails from Bayelsa State and went to elementary school at Greenspring Montessori School, Anthony, Lagos State, Nigeria. After primary school, he went on to the Adebayo Mokuolu College, Ogba, Lagos.
On completing his secondary education, he went to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where he attained a BSc in Psychology. Timini described his teenage years as the period he learnt lots of life lessons. He also mentioned that the way to his heart is honesty and good food.

Timini’s dream was to train and practice as a child psychologist, but then fate has its way of placing you where it designed for you. While Timini was in the university, he worked part-time with his sister – Dakore, as her personal assistant.
After obtaining his BSc, he got a job with an e-commerce company as a marketing executive. So he worked a 9 – 5 job for two and a half years before transiting into Nollywood. Timini wasn’t fulfilled doing a 9 – 5, so his search for fulfillment launched him into Nollywood.
Timini commenced his career as an actor in 2012 with M-net’s soap opera – Tinsel. Over 4000 people were present at the audition, yet he was one of the few chosen by the director in charge. His ace performance in Tinsel prompted the director to include him in the cast of MTV’s Shuga Naija. After Shuga, Timini went on to become the host of an EbonyLife TV show – The Spot.
